Is Indian Literature thrash?
I have a lot to say about this statement and hence I ended up filming a video. In this video, I have talked openly about 3 things. Firstly, I have shared an indecent because of which I happened to film this video. Secondly, I have tried to answer with proper facts and good reasoning why Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta, Ravinder Singh, Savi Sharama, and more are bestsellers ever after many of us do not enjoy their work.
And finally, I have addressed directly to few debut authors who approach Book Bloggers to review their book.
It is a high time that we gather ourselves and stand for our cultural literature.
Do you know which country reads the most?
Well, it’s not the US. The answer is INDIA. According to the NOP World Culture Score Index, India is the country that reads the most. An average Indian reads for 10 hours 42 minutes per week.
Indian English Literature has come a long way – from just a few English books releasing a year previously to thousands of new titles launching every year now. In 2020, India’s book market is valued at an estimated Rs 739 billion. India ranks second, after the US, in English language publishing with over 9000 publishers.
Of-course, all of these hundreds and thousands are not going to be good. But there are some mind blowing books coming out every year. It is your job to have an eye to pick the correct book. Follow sources who recommend good books. Follow sources who introduce you to the best debut books.
And to all the authors who go around blabbing on and about reviewers, you need to gather yourselves too. Playing small games is going to talk you nowhere.

I agree completely….I have a hard time reading Chetan Bhagat that I had to stop reading it in the midway. Indian literature is not trash…During the lock down period, I have been reading a lot of Indian books especially, Ruskin Bond, RK Narayan, Perumal Murugan….Where is Chetan Bhagat and the like in comparison with the names, I just mentioned….
